Telesocial (http://www.telesocial.com), the San Francisco-based cloud telephony service platform, announced today the extension of their social voice API to the LinkedIn developer platform. Using the Telesocial API and the LinkedIn platform, developers can now integrate mobile voice calling into their applications without any usage fees. Additionally, web users can click-to-call directly to a mobile phone from within an app without having to know the receivers’ phone number, making your LinkedIn profile your ultimate phone book for networking in a safe and convenient way.

Social voice features available with the API include group calling, in-application voicemail, server conference spaces, call blocking and many more. The Telesocial API is free for users and developers and can service billions of calls on LinkedIn apps; any LinkedIn developer can add our advanced calling features to their apps without cost and at the scale of the social web.

The Telesocial API is unique because it gives developers a versatile interface, providing for a wide range of voice-powered use cases and integrations. Unlike existing VoIP solutions, a user does not need to be logged into the social platform or application to receive a call or a voice message, as call functionalities are delivered via the existing mobile-phone infrastructure. Telesocial’s solution is enabled by strategic relationships with key telecoms providers.

“The share API and other platform enhancements from LinkedIn make the distribution of new and innovative communications possible,” says Eric Stone, CTO of Telesocial. “Using the Telesocial API, developers can distribute social voice communications on a massive scale like never before. We look forward to seeing the creative ways that developers integrate our API into their apps,” adds Stone.

To get started, developers should sign up on the Telesocial website and generate an API key for the LinkedIn Network. Telesocial’s API is available today as a SSL REST service and is free to users and developers and has support in many languages – PHP, .Net / C#, Objective-C / iOS, JAVA, Python, Ruby, Scala, Flash / ActionScript3 and Unity are supported.

The Telesocial network currently supports all US mobile carriers.

Telesocial releases a free Minecraft modification to add social voice features within the game

San Francisco, Calif., May 24, 2012 – Telesocial (www.telesocial.com), the San Francisco-based cloud telephony service platform, has released a free modification, or “mod” plugin for the popular game, Minecraft. The Telesocial mod allows Minecraft players to call each other or initiate group calls on their mobile phones directly from within their game. Call recipients do not have to be in the game in order to receive calls from other players. Players can now join a Minecraft conversation wherever, whenever and never miss a beat.

Some of the cool Telesocial Minecraft mod features include group player calling, server conference spaces, a server calling directory, and call blocking. Additionally, because Telesocial understands that not everyone can talk throughout the day, they have launched a feature that lets players control when they are available to receive calls.

Telesocial is currently the only solution for Minecraft players to initiate mobile-to-mobile group calls in a safe and anonymous way. Using the Bukkit development environment, the Telesocial plugin is easy to download and registration is quick and secure. Furthermore, the mod does not require VoIP, any software to download or a headset hooked up to a computer, making this mod one of the simplest voice solutions in the industry.

“Minecraft players are looking for new and innovative ways to enhance their gaming experience,” says Eric Stone, CTO and co-founder of Telesocial. “Telesocial’s Minecraft mod instantly adds a fun new feature that is convenient and useful. It takes gaming to the next level,” adds Stone.

Telesocial’s unique technology is one of the most disruptive innovations in mobile and gaming convergence. Telesocial’s technology translates players IDs into phone numbers, making it the safest way to communicate with voice in a group setting online

Telesocial’s Minecraft mod is currently available to use in the U.S. and uses the Telesocial API. To learn more and get the instructions on how to download the plugin visit: http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/telesocial-plugin/

Telesocial, a San Francisco-based cloud telephony service started in 2008, launched its newest plug-in extension for developers, allowing easy integration of in-game voice and calling features at no cost to the developer. The 3D telephone and voicemail system allows gamers to engage in group calls with other players, leave voice messages and engage in conference calls.

The Telesocial 3D plug-in helps Unity developers turn the gaming experience into a social one. The new extension runs directly from any Unity app, and it doesn’t require VoIP, headset or client download. In-game calls are anonymous and secure with no phone numbers visible to any players.

Eric Stone, CTO and co-founder of Telesocial, stated in a press release,

“Game developers are always looking for new channels to enhance their games. With the Telesocial 3D plug-in, players can call other players for help, characters can leave messages or communicate with players. These are some of the many features that our plug-in can instantly add to a game and create a new social game mechanic.”

The ability to communicate with other players while playing a game certainly boosts the game’s social identity, which may lead to increased game retention. Adding more of a social aspect to a game is one of the enticing elements Telesocial can deliver to Unity developers. With the popularity of social websites today – Twitter, Facebook, Google and others – social gaming is destined to increase in popularity.

Telesocial’s free and easy-to-use API allows developers to easily integrate voice features into their games using virtually any language. The company already has helped deliver mobile-to-mobile calling at several social media sites, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Game developers can start implementing voice and calling features into their games by signing up for an account at Telesocial’s sandbox.

San Francisco, CA (January 10, 2012)
Telesocial, the San Francisco-based cloud telephony service platform, today has announced the release of their Flash SDK, a software toolkit for application development that supports Adobe’s Flash environment and ActionScript 3. Any Flash application can now add mobile voice services for free with Telesocial’s easy-to-use API. The API allows social voice features to be integrated in games and apps giving the end user an anonymous and safe way to communicate on their favorite platform while phone numbers are secure and never shared.

“Developers have wanted the ability to easily add rich communications features to their applications at massive scale without exposing users’ phone numbers,” said Eric Stone, CTO of Telesocial. “With the Adobe Flash SDK with AS3, millions of existing Flash applications everywhere can add safe social calling, group calling, TalkSpaces™, virtual conferences, in-app voice mail and messaging, media recording and distribution and other features using our free and scalable API.”

Using Telesocial’s API, developers on Facebook, Twitter, iOS and Android can utilize the power of voice in a safe and scalable new way. Telesocial’s API is available today as a SSL REST service and is free to users and developers and supports many languages including – PHP, .Net / C#, Objective-C / iOS, JAVA, Python, Ruby, Scala, Flash / ActionScript3 and Unity.
Telesocial is the only way that developers can add free calling, group calling and mobile voice and media features at the scale of the social web that is safe and secure. A new, free cloud communications service powered by the social web and applications, Telesocial enables new voice features and protect users’ phone numbers.
Since their launch in early October, Telesocial has had a very positive response from the developer community. The Telesocial network currently supports all US mobile carriers and will expand globally in early 2012.

Mobile game marketing platform PlayHaven is opening up its platform to allow third-party services to integrate into its real-time monetization and engagement dashboard. Essentially what PlayHaven is doing is making partnerships with several other mobile utility services to give a boost in functionality to its dashboard and the iOS game developers that use it.The first round of partners includes Tap.me, Telesocial and PressOK PlacePlay. The PlayHaven Self-Serve Marketplace will allow iOS developers to use tools from these companies through the PlayHaven SDK, tied to the company’s back-end development stack. It is an astute move by PlayHaven, enabling game developers to move more quickly and engage more users in meaningful ways.If recent history has shown us anything, the best way for mobile development companies to grow is to make partnerships.

That has been the goal of Urban Airship, one of the fastest growing mobile tool providers in the ecosystem. It partnered with SimpleGeo before acquiring it and has had several other partnership announcements in the past year, with a few more on the horizon. There are a couple of ways to add functionality and grow a core business without either A) building it in-house or B) spending money to acquire the utility. The first is to partner, as we are seeing PlayHaven do here. The second is to build a data driven platform with some type of critical mass, release an API and let the community build on top of it. A good recent example of that principle can be seen with RunKeeper. What do these new partners bring to PlayHaven’s dashboard and SDK? Telesocial is a free API for making in-app voice calls and leaving in-app messages. The notion is to bring mobile voice to the social Web. It benefits from PlayHaven by being provided an inroad to the vast expanse of iOS games.
